Home Dialysis Fellow Educational Grant
Dear Director of the Nephrology Fellowship Program,
Satellite Healthcare, Inc. is a leading, national not-for-profit kidney care company that has been dedicated to making life better for patients with kidney disease since 1974. Satellite Healthcare and its entities provide in-center and home dialysis services, innovative research and clinical trials as well as early and end-stage kidney disease management. Our focus is to improve the quality and access of dialysis care, reduce costs and implement integrated value-based care models. In addition, Satellite Healthcare has a well-recognized, enduring commitment to philanthropy and community service, from funding millions of dollars in research grants to sponsoring kidney programs nationwide. Satellite is recognized as the National Leader in Home Dialysis.
Aligned with Satellite Healthcare’s mission of making life better for those living with kidney disease and the Department of Health and Human Services’ Advancing American Kidney Health Initiative (AAKHI), which aims to advance kidney health through reducing the risk of kidney failure, improving access to and quality of person-centered treatment options, and increasing access to kidney transplants, Satellite is placing additional emphasis and significant resources towards expanding physician education and support programs.
In 2021, Satellite Healthcare launched two (2) programs targeting Nephrology Fellowship Programs in the United States and aims to maximize physician knowledge and familiarity with home dialysis therapies:
- Home Dialysis Academy of Excellence: provides Nephrology Fellows with an educational immersion into the value and application of home dialysis as a therapeutic option to promote health and wellness for people with end stage kidney disease. This program has been initiated as a collaboration between Satellite Healthcare and leading academic nephrology programs. Additional information is found here: https://hdexcellence.org/ or you may email us at: [email protected]
- Home Dialysis Fellow Educational Grant: provides an unrestricted educational grant to Nephrology Fellowship Programs allowing Nephrology Fellows to attend educational programs that increase their knowledge of home dialysis therapies. Additional information on how to apply for this Grant may be obtained by emailing us at: [email protected].
We encourage you to take advantage of these programs to help advance educational goals for your nephrology fellows in this ever-changing environment that is placing higher emphasis on slowing the progression of kidney disease, increasing kidney transplants, and promoting person-centered treatment options.
We look forward to responding to any questions you may have about the above-mentioned programs.
